>Acquire cast iron pan
>Throw pan in oven
>Preheat oven to 500F with pan inside
>Salt your steak (kosher salt please)
>Pepper your steak (freshly ground please)
>Lightly coat your steak with canola oil
>Wait for oven to reach 500F
>Take pan out and place on stove
>Turn stove on high to further heat pan for 5 minutes
>Place steak in fucking hot pan
>30 seconds per side
>Place pan in 500F oven
>2 minutes per side
>Remove from oven
>Place steak on a plate with some foil lightly covering it
>Let steak rest for 3 minutes
>Enjoy

The thing I simply dont understand is why people get their panties so wadded up about what I put into my body.
