historically, whites typically didnt need to to overspice their foods as they could afford to buy fresh, wholesome ingredients and ate the best cuts of meat.
blacks typically were given offal, spoiled, overripened, or bruised fruits & vegetables or the tops of regular vegetables to eat. These usually tasted like complete garbage and the only way they were palatable was to add a ton of spice.
