Oh my god I can't stop eating jap curry. It's fucking delicious. If I had no self control I'd be a whale by now.

Does /ck/ have any good recipes for Japanese curry?

So I recently got back from a trip to Tokyo, and I'm looking to replicate (as best I can) the Japanese-style curry dishes I ate there. I've cooked Thai curries before, but there's definitely a qualitative difference compared to what I ate in Tokyo...the curry there almost has a chili-like quality. I'm guessing from what I tasted that coconut milk isn't involved either.

Anyone have any recipes to share? The tonkatsu is something I'm sure I'll have to practice seperately, but right now I'm just looking to make the curry.

We've got people coming over in a couple of weeks time and everyone else wanted to just get take away, but I don't mind cooking.

So I was going to make katsu kare (with chicken, not pork) served with some kind of greens and gyoza as a starter.

What is the best brand of jap curry to buy? There will be a 12 year old kid there, so I don't want it to be too spicy.

So I'm going to cook for my girlfriend for the first time. Was thinking going with something Japanese because asian food is my strong point.

I wanted to get a variety of things going and just do a 'load up on the things you want' kind of thing. So I was thinking four 'mains' + rice.

So far I'm making jap curry and teryaki chicken (sweeter than normal, though). Two other dishes I can make?
