Indiana here. We don't get as much snow as the east, but we usually get fucked over by the ice storms, where it rains, then freezes, then snows, then rains again, freezes again.. over and over until you've got 2-3 feet of snow covered in 2-3 inches of ice.
You can't even shovel that shit.
I hope you guys are staying safe and warm.

I get an extra paycheck next month, so i'll probably spend it on stocking up on canned foods. Corn and ravioli and that really shitty hunts chili you get for like $1 per can.

I can only drink beer and bitch drinks, because I got the shit kicked so hard outta my by the Captain one night that the smell of alcohol makes me involuntarily retch.

When I make toast, sometimes I leave little crumbs in the butter.

I buy condiments I never use, just because it makes my fridge look a bit less poor than I really am.

I used to wash dishes/bus tables at this Bob Evans a long time ago, and I still remember people wandering in like 15 minutes before closing and ordering a full platter of whatever.
Our manager locked the doors like 10 minutes before 12, but it was never soon enough.
Its like the customers knew.
Of course, being the guy who washed the dishes and cleaned the tables, I was stuck there for as long as the customers parked their asses in the booth.
...I always felt sorry for the guys on the line though.
They'd have that shit clean and sparkling like 20 minutes before close, just to have to pull out the hashbrown bags and crack some eggs back on that nice, clean griddle.

I was a dishwasher at a restaurant for a few years, (Bob Evans) and I really gotta give it to those servers and kitchen folks.. y'all put up with some bullshit.

My job was simple - keep the tables cleared and clean, and make sure there were plenty of clean cups and plates for when it got busy.
No one bothered me. I just kept my head down and did my job.
But those poor servers.. oh man.. some of those customers just WANTED to fuck with them. Even though they smiled like 110% of the time, the old people would still bitch and complain about them acting 'shitty' with them.
Food that looked perfectly fine was like.. they'd just been handed a plate of toxic waste or something. So much complaining and bitching and whining and shitty looks, and those girls just... took it with a smile.
I could never have that much goddamn patience with anyone. Ever. I'd choke a bitch.

Then my bros in the kp area would always get the bad end of the shit stick, it was always thier fault if something went wrong or if a salad wasn't brought up on time (..as they tried to prepare 4-5 of the goddamn things AT THE SAME TIME.)

Its milk, cheese, sour cream, ice cream, (whatever) cream products that are gonna fuck up your stomach.
Its not the end of the world, (I hardly notice 'not' having milk or dairy stuff anymore) and depending on your severity, you can still have those things
....just not in massive amounts anymore.

I've done my time in the fast food business, so I know your pain anon.

..but please understand that if someone is rushing to your store right before it closes, that means they 'realllly' like your restaurant, and just want one more burger and some fries before the lights go out.
You should be thanking them.
..I know. Most of them are assholes and welfare niggers who bitch and gripe because you gave them 3 packs of ketchup instead of 4, but they could always take thier business elsewhere, making your store lose money.
Less money = less profits = less hours available = you getting less money.
