Not a huge fan but if it's a Japanese pizza where the other ingredients work together I'm OK with it.

Teriyaki chicken pizza with corn and mayo. Not my very favorite or anything, but not bad.
Also bacon + asparagus, again asparagus isn't a showstopper but it works just fine.

It isn't random, the teppan is heated to 260 degrees Celsius (500 degrees Fahrenheit).
You can see the seasoning on the rice in that image. Pepper Rice works so well because it's heavily seasoned. If it weren't peppery it'd just be fuckin' rice.
They do add corn to stuff that doesn't need it though.
