We need more awareness for our communities, especially health education in schools. To start.

America has done a pretty good job of passing a soda tax (sugar tax) in white cities like Seattle and Minnesota.

The cities that really needed this tax: Atlanta, St. Louis, Baltimore, etc. all rejected the soda tax.

Why?

Because the blacks basically called it a "racist" tax targeting blacks for how much soda they drink. Isn't that the point? To reduce diabetes and obesity in the black community?

This shows that whites & others actually have some awareness about diet and health. This type of awareness and open discussion is exactly what the Black Community needs right now. We're in the middle of an historical Epidemic for obesity in the black community and nobody seems to care. It's so sad...

As a half black man, I am very, very worried about my cholesterol, blood pressure, and potential heart conditions. I already have diabetes and can't afford heart related complications.

To me, the most important step to fixing america's obesity problem is to admit that we have a problem. Stop pretending that fat or THICC is desirable. And realize that we have massive health issues in the community that is actually trending worse, not better.
