>waiting in line
>people are checking out with cart filled to the top taking for fucking ever
WHY DO THEY DO THIS. I like the self checkout when I'm just grabbing one or two items but it would be so much easier to throw you cart full of grocerys onto the treadmill and let the cashier bag it all quickly.

is there any solution for easily deep frying at home? it's such a pain in the ass and it's so wasteful

It's probably just professional "form", and helps add stability and control. Maybe it dates back to a time when our ancestors had no lid, or shitty lids so we instinctively hold it like that to this day, like a dog circling before he lays down.

Mussels are fine. Indistinguishable from oysters if they're smoked, imo. The flavor is more about the smoke than the actual seafood. Like smoked oysters, smoked mussels, and smoked deenz only vary in texture as far as I'm concerned. Because the cost is the same, I tend to eat fresh mussels and smoked oysters (although I eat both in both styles)
I personally generally avoid canned mussels and oysters due to concerns (that are based entirely on my uneducated notions - I don't know if there's anything to this) regarding bioaccumulation.
However, I do eat fresh mussels and oysters fairly regularly. I don't logically see a reason why they would be any better than canned in terms of absorption of mercury and various toxic chemicals. I suppose you can make the argument that because they are smaller, you're likely to eat more of them smoked. I generally eat 6 fresh oysters, and a tin of canned smoked oysters is usually around 12. So perhaps there's more toxicity overall, even if the toxicity per oyster is roughly the same

This. A useful way to think about hand grinders is to view the price per performance the same way you would with graphics cards. The difference between a GTX 710/1020 compared to something you can pick up second hand for $100 is night and day. Not saying you should look for a second hand grinder, just useful for the sake of example.
Just save up that extra bit of money as the returns you get are exponential when you have that bit more to spend compared to something like an Amazon basic, Hario, or Wish.com grinder.

She could /probably/ handle a manual one but I'd still prefer to get an electric one. Aren't centrifugal juicers better in that respect? It'd be for pretty much everything, both of us are into weird healthy juice blends as opposed to just OJ.

Dripper filters aren't the same as traditional pour over filters. Kalita, V60 and chemex filters all have different weights and filter different levels of fines, as will your dripper filter.

It's another case of;
>"Just because you can, doesn't mean you should"
If you want to do it, you can, nobody is holding a gun to your head saying no, if you do, post back with your results.
