just bought some allegedly authentic saffron, it was $10 for 1.5 grams

what am i in for? what sort of dish should i cook with it? i was curious what the hubbub is all about so i finally bought some

Is saffron way overrated or am I just missing something? I've tried cooking it into risotto, curries, and even made an actual saffron rice and I don't get it. It just tastes like I'm licking a chain linked fence and then eating some rice.
