Kenji is 100% white. He changed his last name to Lopez when he married his wife because he is a weirdo trying to be cute.
His awkwardness and lack of hygiene aside, he is indeed a very good cook. He is very thorough and I find his rambling is strangely soothing. It's nice to see him rummage through his fridge and put together amazing dishes using leftovers and random ingredient's he forgot he had.
