Depends on the benefit vs. the harm of the application rather than the type of the device. The harm may or may not be justified depending on what the device is used for. I'm sure that most of us agree that the pollution generated by an ambulance is justified given the lives it saves, whereas the same cannot be said for a cell phone used exclusively for frivolous things like inane chats, games, shitposts, and instabook.

Same idea applies to vegan diets, really. I'd argue there is a lot less harm generated by killing a cow for meat than there is generated to make a highly complex industrial meat replacement product like pic related. Sure there is no dead cow involved, but imagine how much pollution is generated by producing and transporting all the various ingredients in this pic.

Google some ingredient lists. I'm not saying that all of them are bad but a lot of them certainly are.

That's certainly true, but the majority of them are. I'd much rather just buy the ingredients and make my own. It's cheaper and you have the benefit of knowing exactly what went into it.

I treat them exactly like a meat patty. cut the stem off flush with the cap. season with salt and pepper on both sides. drizzle a little oil on it. Then grill it (or cook on a pan) just like you would a normal meat patty.
