Trader Joe's farmed out Belgian-style beers are pretty good. I always pick up a few bottles when I'm there.

I've been drinking a lot of Sierra Nevada stout recently. It's very simple, true to the style, and no-frills, but very well made. I wish more American craft brewers would learn from SN: keep it simple. Dogfish Head, I'm looking at you. 90% of your beers are shit.

I recently picked up a 6-pack of Killian's Irish stout because it was on sale and I'm pissed off at the increased beer prices (a 6-pack of Sam Adams Boston lager is NOT worth $10, I'll have an imported Weihenstephaner for the same price please).

I did splurge on one of my absolute favorite dark beers though: Gulden Draak. The price keeps shooting up, but they could charge $20 per bottle and I'll still drink it every winter.
