What is it with the anti-vegetarian autists here and this weird conviction people who don't eat meat must also magically somehow not have any desire to eat meat? It's a perceived (that word there means don't response saying 'b-but it isn't!' to the next word, because I'm not even saying it is, just that it's perceived that way by them) MORAL issue, not a taste issue. If you weren't some culture deprived zoomer you'd be familiar with the several different idioms that express this exact sentiment of enjoying meat but not wanting to watch a slaughterhouse in action e.g. "everyone likes sausage but no one wants to see how they're made" or "one would risk being disgusted if one saw politics, justice, and one’s dinner in the making."
Meat tastes great. Slaughtering animals has been the unfortunate but historically necessary cost for meat. If you could somehow get meat WITHOUT having industrial slaughterhouses, that would be ideal, with the main remaining objections being related to how much the product we're talking about actually is still meat vs. just a shitty imitation.
I eat meat and probably always will eat meat. I'm not very convinced we'll have an exact replica of meat that doesn't come from animal slaughter within my lifetime. But if we did, of course that would be a good thing.

Why wouldn't you just stick it in the microwave? It would only take 20 seconds at most. I'm extremely lazy and don't know how to cook anything and even I've never been too lazy to heat something for a few seconds in the microwave.

Why didn't anyone post the actual commercial?:

It is really weird. Saying "life is short" and "if you're in the mood for a Diet Coke, have a Diet Coke" makes it sound like they're saying "Diet Coke is bad for your health, but fuck it, everyone's going to die anyway."
It gets even weirder when you think about how the entire point of having a soda called "Diet Coke" is that it's an alternative version of regular soda with the sugar ingredient excluded for consumers presumably interested in sacrificing enjoyment / flavor in an attempt to mitigate weight / diabetes problems.
If you were really going along with the philosophy of "life is short, just do what you want and screw the consequences" then why would you buy a dieting product?

>Jersey Mike's can't even compete with a properly run firehouse, no chance,
Calling bullshit on that. Firehouse is good but I've tried multiple locations of both chains and Jersey Mike's is easily the best sandwich option. Although to be fair I heavily modify the orders at either shop when I get them. Not sure how good either would be if you're keeping all the defaults on as is.
Personally I'm a simple meats and cheese guy, Jersey Mike's has the meats that put them ahead (applewood smoked bacon, cappacuolo, ham, pepperoni, prosciuttini, roast beef, salami, turkey). Italian's their best cold sub. They do a nice oil and vinegar for most of the cold subs as a standard but you can change that out for other condiments if you want mayo or something instead.
Not a huge fan of their wraps, but they're not bad. As far as hot subs go their meatball and cheese is excellent, got a few different Philly cheese steak variants, a decent Reuben, and a BBQ Beef that looks exactly like pulled pork (honestly not sure why they didn't just make it a pulled pork in the first place).
With Firehouse my main is Hook & Ladder (smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, and Monterey Jack). They also do a great meatball (more reminiscent of something you'd get from a pizza place with the melted cheese and seasonings); also have a Sweet & Spicy meatball variant. People who prefer Firehouse tend to rave about the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket. I like but not my favorite.
They don't separate their hot and cold subs on the menu. They're all hot subs by default and you can get any of them cold instead if you prefer. I've also heard from people who prefer Firehouse that one of the main reasons they like it over Jersey Mike's is because they're more into hot subs and hot subs is more of Firehouse's specialty.
Really either chain will probably make most people happy and both are so much better than Subway it's almost silly to even mention it. But Jersey Mike's is on another level for me.

>Dude come on, do you think any psychiatrist... would recommend medication as a first round of treatment? No
What planet are you posting from? Psychiatrists do nothing but prescribe medicine. They aren't there to talk to you like the Freud psychotherapist couch session stereotype.
Why do you think abilify (an antipschotic) was the #1 top selling pharmaceutical a few years back? And not just the best selling psychiatric pharmaceutical either. Best selling of ANY pharmaceutical substances. It's because psychiatrists prescribe almost everyone who makes an appointment with them some sort of drug, and to make that system work they've taken drugs intended for more extreme problems like schizophrenia and indication-creeped it to death so that people who have some trouble sleeping or have mild anxiety get antipsychotics, the antipsychotic company's salespeople make their commissions, and the psychiatrist gets his comfy pharma sales kickbacks.

If you can make your symptoms worse with diet, then couldn't you do the opposite get some symptom relief with diet? That is kind of silly to believe that changing your diet could only make you worse.

>From my GI doctor, my colorectal surgeon, the consulting physicians at the hospital, the nurses
My GI doc happily gave me a referral to a dietitian and when I was hospitalized they gave me an all liquid, low residue diet. Why didn't they just let me eat poptarts and noodles?

GI docs will typically say to not bother with diet because 1 they aren't trained in it and 2 they don't want you to do something ridiculous and lose even more weight or become malnourished.

The books I grew up reading were where I learnt whilst and learnt.
I use learnt differently than learned e.g: I learned a lot today; This wasn't what I had learnt growing up.
Not sure how to explain it and I'm really not sure where I picked up saying whilst but I try to never use it in a professional setting.

Why is /ck/ so in love with beans? They're not unpleasant but they also aren't something to get so fanatically anti-traditional about. I can't imagine finding out a bowl of chili was done properly without filler ingredients like beans and getting somehow *disappointed* by that news. Is that a legitimate thing? "Oh no, it doesn't have any beans!" An actual real life person would get upset about no beans?

Why is everyone convinced now that saturated fats aren't bad for you anymore? It's not like all the researchers came together and announced "hey guys, actually saturated fats are great and we were totally mistaken earlier." Saturated fats being associated with a variety of severe health risks is still the conventional view today.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturated_fat
>Guidelines released by many medical organizations, including the World Health Organization, have advocated for reduction in the intake of saturated fat to promote health and reduce the risk from cardiovascular diseases. Many review articles also recommend a diet low in saturated fat and argue it will lower risks of cardiovascular diseases,[5] diabetes, or death.[6] A small number of contemporary reviews have challenged these conclusions, though predominant medical opinion is that saturated fat and cardiovascular disease are closely related.[7][8][9]
This Atkins 2: Keto Boogaloo cult has really taken over the 4chan demographic hard this past few years. It's weird as fuck to watch. And I'm not biased either because I'm a hungry skelly and basically eat (in much smaller portions probably) what ketofags eat except I do it because I like meat rather than because I believe I'm turning my body into a magic fat burning furnace that somehow overrides calories as a weight loss driver.
