Blind people use service animals, not emotional support animals.
A service dog does actual work, seeing or hearing on behalf of the impaired or pressing buttons and carrying things for amputees. They can also be trained to detect a seizure and get help.

An emotional support animal on the other hand is just a normal pet. Properly speaking a person suffering from being bitchmade, i.e. having depression or anxiety, gets told by a doctor that having a pet would help by just generally being a pet and acting cute.
What actually happens is assholes notice the requirements for an emotional support animal are a hell of a whole lot less stringent than those for a service animal, if indeed they bother certifying the animal at all, and use the title of support animal to bring their obnoxious untrained unqualified pets into restaurants and on airplanes making everything miserable for everyone around them and generally sullying the good name of service animals for people like you who don't know the difference.
This way actual service animals get a whole lot more hassle and scrutiny from business owners who are wary of another emotional support woobie shitting in their public space again.
