Hi /ck/!

I'm a first time postter around here, and not very skilled, but wanted to make something regardless, even if I really make mostly sweets. Now I'm really daunted by all the entries here. Anyways, here I go:

My entry is two waffle homes, with strawberries and nutella paste (nutella and confectioner's sugar mixed to spreading consistency, as well not melting on the warm roofs they decorate) decorations for the roof, on a snowy morning, with driveways freshly shoveled and a strawberry doggy house.

The waffles themselves were buttermilk ones, where I tried to make them as fluffy as possible while still maintaining some sort of structural merit. I achieved this but beating 1 1/2 egg whites (as opposed to 2 full ones) to stiff peaks instead of soft ones, using some cream of tartar to help and omitting the sugar in the whites (didn't want to be too sweet, that's what the spreads are for). Spreads (not shown, since I think you're only supposed to show one main dish thing) are a nice dulce de leche, from Uruguay, and Nutella, from down the block. The strawberries are organic, if anyone cares.

I wanted to make this because I really like winter, and my mom would make something similar for us on snowy mornings, when we didn't have school. I tried to keep it clean, I hope it doesn't look too bad. I'm also very very sorry about the tardiness, but I hope I'm still in this. Also sorry for the shoddy piping and low quality pic (only had my phone with me).

Thanks!
