Has anyone tried Hojicha? Does it have a charcoal roast flavor like some Chinese oolong? Any wood smoke flavor? I want to try some, I'm hoping it will be burly, woody and not have much vegetal green tea flavor.
Also is it traditionally brewed by simmering? Seems like you would have to hit it pretty hard to get most of the flavor out.
