So I'm having a bit of a problem

My parents will be visiting for the first time in almost two years and I'll be making them dinner.
However, I've gained quite a bit of weight since then and I'd rather mom didn't make a fuzz about it.
So, my plan is to cook something healthy to make it seem like I'm really trying to lose weight.

Does this sound like it would work?
Also, what should I cook that is healthy but still tasty? If I only make salads and such I'm sure they'll like it or if I would for that matter.
