yeah whatever but my point is basically that it's not useful to say "it's ok to be gay because it is the current year" because there are a lot of other insecurities attached to any sort of alternative sexuality that are not soothed by a simple application of "well, the shitlibs are in charge and they don't really care"

it's sorta like telling someone who studied a stupid subject like liberal arts or architecture or civil engineering or visual arts "well it's not like anyone's gonna arrest you for having that degree" -- it doesn't address that your lifestyle choice has fundamentally been a mistake, or at least is sub-optimal or has been sub-optimally handled
