Dutch, german and every east european restaurant got no variety & r just as greasy/unhealthy as american food minus the variety and open mindedness towards food from other cultures. Outside of the few 1m+ resident towns u won't get anything besides Kebab/ poorly made dough with ketchup & gouda people want to sell as Pizza and either Currywurst in germany, some type of fried borderline legal to sell meat from a vending machine in the netherlands or rubbery Schaschlyk made from porkbuttholes.
People overhere rarely go out to eat aswell cuz they r broke by american standards and just chow on whatever goes on discount at Lidl/Aldi. Restaurants r more of a twice a year experience that celebrates the atmosphere & get together with friends rather than eating good food. Everybody just accepts that the food will likely be bad & overpriced, sort of with an "u didn't go to the supermarket and cook urself, u deserve to be punished for having to eat on the go " mindset.
