Taste preference. But it's a different drink. I consider instant a completely separate category of coffee beverages.

That being said, my first ever coffee experience was working night shift in a supermarket as a manager, and I still drink instant some mornings because I like the flavour and want something different.

General Starbucks is what it is. It's the McDonalds of coffee. Their reserve stores in Chicago, Milan etc. are actually pretty good, like those Instagram reels you see where someone takes a cheese burger and makes it gourmet.
