The sad thing is I remember Celeste pizzas being kind of OK when I was a kid. Tried it recently as an adult and holy shit they don't even bother putting plastic around it. It's just pizza on cartboard lol.

It's called a promotion. They take a loss on an item for a limited time to get more customers to buy their shit in hopes that they buy more shit once they're there and that they'll buy the stuff later once the promo is over.
Could also be a loss leader, like the chicken nuggs at McDonalds or rotisserie chickens at the grocery store. They take a smaller margin or even a loss knowing that the customer on average will buy other shit to make up for it.
