>I don't hang around blacks at all, so it could just be an internet meme but probably isn't. There are a few factors that play into this. Low income Americans in general, not just blacks, buy poor quality foods that need to be covered in heavy seasoning, hot sauce, or other condiments to become palatable. The type of poor folk who live in an endless poverty-welfare cycle in trailers and section 8 housing, have no cooking abilities and make no effort to learn how to cook. This is out of laziness, stupidity, never having learned any kind of cooking skills growing up, and often genuinely not realizing that food can taste good. Many spend their entire lives in trailer courts or the urban ghetto, never leaving the county lines. They've only ever eaten highly processed, extremely low quality foods, and going to Longhorns or Applebees is a huge deal and fancy night out. No one in their circle knows better, so they really believe the type of food they eat is as good as it gets. Blacks in particular are seemingly predisposed to slathering their food in hot sauce and cayenne seasoning mixes over ketchup, mustard, and mild BBQ sauce. When they see poor whites eat buttered sketti with hotdogs and some ketchup it blows their minds. Or steamed peas and boiled potatoes with just salt or something like that. You'll notice they never post a photo of haute French cuisine or mediterranean dishes, rather they post photos of boiled hotdogs and frozen chicken nuggets. They are barely aware that flavorful, non-poverty food exists but ar vaguely aware that white cuisine around the world isn't slathered in hot sauce and cajun seasoning, and therefore it's all bland wypipo food.
