You have to remember before the grain is planted, you have to till the soil, which rips up insects and animals burrowed underneath, and it destroys the integrity of the soil, making it prone to drought and flood, fortunately, no till agriculture is slowly becoming more popular among cash croppers.

But even if you do no till, you need a planter, and you need fertilizer. Organic fertilizer sources it's cow shit from manure ponds from intensive feedlots. But non organic fertilizer is worse. That shit combined with the shitty hydrophobic soil is enemy number 1 for causing massive fish die offs and growing ocean dead zones like in pic related.

And we haven't even gotten to pesticides yet.
