A quick search tells me that's not true, but it's only like a 20% difference. On the other hand, there are twice as many Italians in Italy as there are in the US, but 10 times the amount of Italians in America as there are Norwegians, and yet I've never seen basic shit like locally made fresh mozzarella in regular grocery stores outside of heavily Italian populated areas like NYC and Southern New England.
