Anyone remember maybe 10-15 years ago when veganism wasn't that much of a thing? At least in Europe it wasn't. And the discussion, if there was any, was about the different kind of vegetarian diets and that you don't have to commit to meatless diets. That there are vegetarians who still eat fish. Others eat light meat like turkey and chicken. In merely about 10 years this completely vanished aside from some fat girls who say they are vegetarians but still eat some meat, and girls who are would be vegan but are vegetarian because there isn't enough vegan restaurants in the city.
I think the vegetarians were overwhelmed by the vegans' militant nature and their shrieking on social media as a vegetarian actually has the same views but are less extreme.
