She's really not though. Mom-cooking is mostly a slop-o-shit just to get a meal out of the way. Any dumbass who passed home-ec can make some mac&cheese, spaghetti, sloppy joes, meatloaf, tacos, grilled cheese, deli sandwiches, etc. Cutting up chicken with shears, tossing it in a bowl with generic seasoning blend, and cooking it through in a pan is minimal effort. Most moms can't use a knife for shit, which is due to it not being necessary in most of their cooking. Why do you suppose the freezer is filled with frozen food? You think a mom is going to spend all day making a pizza or feed your ass a digiornos? Why do you think you've only ever eaten soup out of a can and microwaved rice-a-roni until you learned to cook? Mom's deserve cooking props exactly one (1) day per year, which is Thanksgiving IFF they don't fuck it up. Getting dinner on the table 7 days a week takes a little effort, but you're not gonna see a five star meal. There is very little if any prep-work like you see in real cooking. There's no real nuance in cooking technique beyond "bake" and "stir." The side dish is always a lackluster afterthought (fresh fruit, chips, cookies, some microwaved canned or frozen shit, etc.) It's typically prepared in a single family-size pot or pan. I never saw my mom in the kitchen longer than a half hour for a typical weekday meal. On top of working and keeping the house in order, it takes work to be a mom, but I'll be damned if I'll say they're ever really "breaking their backs over a hot stove" 7 days a week. Fuck that. Learn to cook, bitch.
