Sup /ck/. I just bought a bone in, smoked and salted country ham. A Portuguese friend of mine says it's safe to eat raw and sliced thin like Prosciutto. But I cant find any solid advice anywhere online and people go back and forth on it. Am I asking for tricconelli if I serve this raw with melon? Or is this just American paranoia about food safety?

Slice, fry, consume.
You can buy the pre-sliced stuff too I guess. If you don't want an entire ham.
