I had a boomer ask me what was good on the menu
I said the lambshanks.
He asked how were they done.
I listed everything I marinated them in.
He stopped me when I got to the red wine
"Oh no, that's too spicy for me"

To this fucking day I just don't fathom how the fuck red wine is spicy. I just don't get it.

With your hands, grabbing greasy fucking patties with your bare hands, getting cheese stuck in your nails and sauce all over your fingers because if you order something like that then don't even pretend you give a fuck.

I guarantee that the clientele at a place that serves something like that won't think any less of you, in fact they might cheer you on and do the same.

I dunno man, I put chilli in everything. I guess Mexican food because you have the bevy of flavours that blend together with jalapeno/habanero spice, but then there's Indian, with rices and curries and nothing beats the contrast of a nice spicy curry with some cool cucumber yoghurt, or some papri-chaat mixed in, and it has a much earthier spice than the zest of mexican. But a pot of goulash loaded up with paprika and cayenne, with it ladled over some mashed potato is the perfect winter food.

Different spices do different things man, I can't answer that question easily.
