Use moderation and you are fine. That's wisdom 101 since before Christ. All the religions teach moderation in a form or another. The problem is not lack of knowledge about dieting but lack of moderation because today they theres this idea that you must be 200% comfortable all the fucking time and suffering is bad. Of course we tend to avoid suffering and aim for comfort, thats expected from humans but a bit of suffering from time to time is necessary and fundamental. Guess why people get depression.
Try something, tell your friends you gonna starve for a day just to see what happens. Even mentioning hungry and starvation will make them scared.

Want to eat cake? fine just make sure you don't go over tdee. Want to go over tdee? fine, just don't do it everyday for years.

What was the strangest food related experience you ever had?

>be me
>last year
>alone home planing my breakfast menu for the next month
>starts arguing about if I should try to lower costs or keep variety
>have ADHD episode and end up discussing about life, death, economics, life in society and what people eat through the times
>5 hours later I wasted the entire and was crying after a little contemplation of death
>feeling disconnected and numb
>decide to keep variety but watch out for excessive cost

>coming back home after a trip
>in the bus after a barbecue
>looking in the window
>had read about tribal societies
>start thinking about violence and what man had to do to get meat in the past
>4 hours later
>feeling disconnected from reality as fuck
>thinking about killing a dog to know how it feels

Luckily I didn't act on impulse and just got some sweets to calm my nerves.

Ok /ck/ I very emotional against vegetable fat (even if it wasn't harmful). I hate margarine and only bake using butter. Recently butter become very expensive in my country and I stopped baking because I won't ever use vegetable oil, margarine or shortening. But today I found lard on supermarket and it costs 5 times less than butter. Google says it is pig fat.
Can I use for shortbread and rich sweet breads? I found people saying it works better for savory dishes.

>be me
>learning how to bake
>everything is 1000% better than grocery shit
>fall in love with sweets despite hating it for 20 years
>end eating desserts all the time
>estimate my caloric intake to be 4000+kcal/day
>luckily I have vanity and fear end up skinnyfat
>dieting at 1300kcal/day
>realize pic related
>cakes are even better

Learning how to bake taught me valuable life lesson about struggle/relax, psychology of dieting and why people usually get pretty fatter at college (hint: it isn't about age or metabolic/hormonal decrease).
