Why does 90% of the discussion about Mexican food revolve around street food?
Is it a reddit thing where you have to LARP as being working class for authenticity points?
Surely there are plenty of great sit down Mexican restaurants.

Why the fuck do Amerisharts call tacos, "street tacos"? They're just "tacos". There's only one type of taco, anything else isn't a taco. I see Italians get made fun of for being "snobby" or whatever but they're fully justified in feeling that way.

Mexican is quickly becoming one of my favorite cuisines and it deserves all the positive recognition it gets. I don't know if some of you guys are trolling or just never had real Mexican food but the whole "Mexican food is just the same 5 basic ingredients in different arrangements" thing is so wrong.
What are some other Mexican dishes I should look out for?

at best I tolerant of pineapple pizza. I do like pineapple on al pastor tacos. Maybe a hawaiian pizza with al pastor meat would be good.

I miss doner. The closest alternative in my state (texas) is tacos al pastor, which is roughly the same thing meat wise but with different spices. Most americans here go to Whataburger late night after drinking though, so burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken strips kind of stuff.

Honestly, I like various fusions more than traditional foods. Take Al Pastor for example, a Mediterranean cooking method combined with Mexican spices and accoutrements, pure perfection.
