Thanks man. It's nice to reminisce sometimes.

I haven't done that in years since Covid, but for about a year or so I would have breakfast at a little café right when they opened once a week. I was usually the only customer around for at least the first 15 minutes.
Comfiest days of my life. I'd walk there on deserted streets through the city, then walk to the shops before they got busy.

I never tried it at home, but I frequented a café that did it. Ended up requesting they leave it off, eventually.
I didn't dislike it, but I don't think it improved the eggs. It's better with omurice though.

Good taste brother.

Here's the other café I'd frequent, is this better for you folks?
The first place just made a simple egg sand, it was fine for what it was, and like a few bucks with the coffee together.
This other place was far more expensive, but still nice.
And yeah, I've had that salad too. Better than expected!

I used to go to a super cute café for breakfast every weekend, and I became such a regular I didn't even have to ask them to hold the ketchup for me.
But this is how they normally served it.

Some of the comfiest meals I've ever had were at 8am right when the cafe opens. I'm usually the only customer for at least a half hour. I can sip black iced coffee, take my time enjoying the meal, and just relax.

Restaurants are nice to go by yourself, as long as they aren't crowded to begin with.
I used to go to cafes on weekend mornings, right when they opened so nobody else was around. I'd sip iced coffee and enjoy eggs with toast or a sandwich, just enjoying the quiet atmosphere. I miss those days.

The Power Breakfast from Gemminy's, a local cafe. The omelet uses local eggs, which isn't hard. There were actually local egg vending machines where farmers would put their stock into cubbies and you could just go up and buy some. Very cool.

I used to frequent this place that would put catsup on their omelets.
Eventually I started asking for it without, and soon enough I didn't even have to ask

I do miss going out for breakfast. Definitely the comfiest meal to eat out, if you're out early enough to avoid a crowded restaurant.

I've never seen catsup on rice in Japan, but I've seen it on eggs and spaghetti naporitan.

Going to work parties is an expectation in Japanese work life. You do not go because you are friends with coworkers. A lot of the people at my farewell party I had actually barely interacted with in my years at the job.

What the fuck kind of sandwiches are you eating that you see a sandwich on that plate?
Do you think this is also a sandwich?

Early morning on the weekends I would go to one of two cafes for a breakfast sandwich and coffee, about a 45 minute walk away.
Walking in a beautiful city before everyone is up. Cars are barely on the roads. Going through a nearly empty train station.
It was like I had the place all to myself. Top comfy.

I used to go to a lovely little cafe for breakfast. This was their one fault, other than being overpriced.

There are a few different versions now, but this is the standard.
I started ordering mine without ketchup or butter, so now whenever I get it they leave those off.
