How's it going /ck/?

I'd like to take up a new hobby, and I'm interested in teaching myself how to cook. I can't eat any more dew-soaked pizza pockets and my girlfriend is getting pissed that I'm a potato in the kitchen. Just as a heads up, I am a complete scrub. I can barely chop an onion and I'm unreasonably proud when I can properly flip an egg. I was wondering if any of you folks have a neat recipe a guy like me could try to cook tonight?

In general I like beef and I have experience making various sauces, but other than that I'm extremely out of practice. I can even document my horrific progress if you guys would like a laugh.
