most restaurants ive worked in go for powdered gravy that you just reconstitute with hot water
theres a good chance youve had one and never actually noticed it was fake gravy

i never really looked into how cheap it is compared to just making gravy the traditional way with roux and stuff because ive always noticed that a bag of it is very pricey
