>there was no "original design". Italians literally couldn't afford good ingredients or meat when they started coming to america so they got there and started making good as fuck pizza with the sudden availability of top legit ingredients. SO now to be "authentic" to arbitrarily chosen 1900 Italy you have to barely put any cheese and no meat on because most Italians were poor as fuck, thats literally why so many left for America. The American version has always been the higher quality version
