how do you stand to be in that kind of state? If I'm hungover the last thing I want is the jitters, anxiety and added dehydration of amps.

I would like to start this post by stating that I am English.
Does anybody else get the impression that a LOT of people who drink tea online are just Americans who think they're super sophisticated and "British" for switching from shitty coffee to a shitty builder's brew? The kind of cat mums ("moms") and hipsters who think they're connoisseurs for buying a blend of butterfly farts and shitty Bong tea? They don't seem to understand that there is absolutely nothing charming or cutesy about drinking English breakfast. English breakfast, assam, ceylon, earl grey, these are all the "filter coffee" of the United Kingdom.
"Ah yes, I purchased a London Fog (tm), I just adore the fragrance, and what about you? I heard you bought a Black Current (tm)? Do tell"
And what really gets my goat is they don't even know how to act British. They buy Lipton. They put cream in their damn tea. They're usually dimly aware that PG Tips isn't exactly for the top hat wearing classes so they get some shitty tea blended with pomegranates and butterfly farts made in America instead.
