Belgian here, I agree with this >>10618115 get some lambics/gueuzes. I suppose you can find most trappists in the US, maybe get some orval cause I suppose that ain't easily found and is great. If he wants to go above and beyond he can pop by westvleteren to buy a case. Else, anything from De Dochter van de Korenaar, Brouwerij Brasserie De Ranke, Brasserie Dupont, Brasserie de la Senne.
Gouden Carolus Tripel for a nice competitor to Triple Karmeliet.
Also i'd suggest this if you can find it for an actually well made IPA.

Anyone else ever try this?

Had it at a bar for 5€ the other night but it was worth it.
Double IPA, great balance between hops and fruitiness/maltsugars, long aftertaste. The 8.5% ABV goes unnoticed.
Would recommend.
