It’s really uneventful food. When I lived in the US, everyone kept going on about Baja Fresh or whatever it’s called so I got a whole lot of it at that food hall in Boston (whatever that’s called). Got back to eat and it’s basically all just a variation of largely unidentifiable slop on some kind of plain or crisped flatbread. Huge amount of fuss over fucking nothing. Think I binned most of it in the end. The one - burrito I think it was - looked like bean shit plopped in rice then covered up with flatbread toilet paper. It was then I realised, of course, that this is why they must be called ‘beaners’, although I myself much prefer the much more colourful ‘wetback’. One of them used to talk to me at the local ‘deli’ where he worked illegally. Nice chap. Gave me a great steak cooking tip once.
