>made apple turnovers earlier in the month
>parents love it
>my mom especially goes crazy about it and tells everyone how good it is (better than store-bought, etc.)
>ask me to make a double batch for Thanksgiving
>flash forward to Thanksgiving
>finish making the turnovers but have a bit of the apple filling left
>mom fills it into a store-bought pie crust that was leftover in the freezer so the filling doesn't go to waste
>eats a turnover made from the store-bought crust
>tells me "oh hey anon it tastes just like the ones you made"
She didn't mean it in a bad way, more like "now you don't have to work so hard making it from scratch." Still kind of hurt my feelings though.
