By cooking a soup, you make elementary molecules available and by adding some ingredients, increase the quality of already leftover foods.

Making soup and stock from fresh store-bought ingredients is a privilege of wealthy people.

Yeah that's understandable. When I lived in East Asia they were pretty expensive relative to the USA. That's why the "low and slow" idea is one that I am behind, as you can do that on a stove, or in a smoker/oven.
