What I remember as seafaring food growing up as a young sailor in the Navy

>grog
>Van de Kamp's fish sticks
>Cracker Jacks
>ethnic cuisine from ports of call, usually deep-fried vermin with authentic local spit
>seagulls accidentally boiled in the nuclear reactor steam
>more grog (extra ration during homosexual pagan King Neptune ritual)
>one time, Dinty Moore beef stew confiscated from Somali pirates

Landlubbers have no idea how bad it really is. No one in the Navy knows what the fuck hardtack is or MREs. Navy food is disgusting. Literally the worst cuisine of any service branch. Makes sense because seamen are the branch of the military closest to animals. They make disgusting noises when they eat, slurp everything, seamen wipe their mouths with their jaunty neckerchiefs while laughing and chewing with their mouths full of food. Like what kind of idiot decided a giant boat is the most efficient way to project force in 2022. Starving Marines who eat crayons have a better diet than the average sailor.
