I raise meat and eggs chickens in my front yard. Cost me sub 8$ a bird. If your don't include coop costs. I spend about 30$ a month on feed years round except when I raise the neat birds then that doubles for two months.
They also make enough fertilizer that's I don't have to buy anything for my large garden.

I prefer the blue ones.

That's a recipe for being 30 and wondering where your life went. Try to balance immediately satisfaction with doing things that'll help you as you get older and it slowly gets physically harder to do anything.
