>“true“ cocktail
>meme association
You realize of course that at this point you‘re arguing that only this special classification of drinks in your head custom-tailored to win this argument on the basis of semantical hairsplitting that neither the „meme organizations“ nor the common colloquial usage as evident in this thread follow, is the only right one? Oh, and here‘s the actual recipe from IBA site in picrelated, just in case you thought that your tiny little disingenuous lie about a rule that neither applys to Cuba Libre, as it‘s not classified as „Before Dinner“ by IBA, nor does it even apply to soft drink ingredients, would fly.

But even if we disregard all that desperate sophist handwaving of yours, there‘s still my second and main argument that you very tactfully avoided, namely that trying to „fix“ a fine complex liquor, created in a long and meticulous process to provide a distinct bouquet of flavors, by dumping raw sweetness and bitterness into it is not just hubris, but pure unadulterated madness. It is clear to any reasonable person that the only way this can improve the drink rather than hurting it is if the liquor is not fine or complex to begin with, but rather poor in taste. At which point we once again arrive to the fact that cocktails are nothing more than a way to make poorly tasting alcohol into something palatable.
