are you Texan? i do this too, there is no need for any other sauce if you order chicken fried steak, just dip everything in the cream gravy.

protip. when you order chicken fried steak ask for the gravy to be on the side instead of on top of the steak. this way the steak maintains optimal crispness without becoming soggy. you just cut and dip. and you can also more easily dip your fries into the side of gravy instead of being reduced to the scrappins leftover after you finish your soggy steak.

i'm not a steak sperg but I do like it best the stereotypical "right" way. Just fresh ground pepper, sea salt, cooked medium rare. I prefer it flame grilled as opposed to pan fried.

austin is still a good place, it's gotten sort of douchey though, like california douchey. no hate and I'd happily live there, just an observation. from my shitty observation it seems austin has gotten more like california was, houston has gotten more like austin used to be, and dallas is still up there doing something or other.
