The waiter hovering over me and essentially cucking me into a nodding approval, thereby forfeiting my ability to complain or send it back should I have hastily misjudged it under duress. Of course if I were to forego the cutting and poke the steak with my index finger (the actual way to tell doneness) I would be ridiculed mercilessly no doubt. Fuck I can't win!
