I was looking for a good recipe for years, also was never satisfied. Something to replace the chemical slop of Velveeta Shells, but the same sort of idea.

I found this, never had to look back. I'd replace the american cheese with some Monterrey jack though, and I also usually add two slices of bacon crumbled up.

I've tried many recipes over the years. All were "meh". This one was where I could finally stop searching.

Comes out looking exactly like the picture, it's phenomenal. Only difference is the recipe makes it too mild with the american cheese, I just grate extra sharp yellow vermont cheddar and some monty jack.

Just gonna leave this here: best mac and cheese recipe I have ever tried, and I have tried ALOT. Done in 15 mins tops, cheese sauce is perfect every time. I'm going to experiment with halving the american and adding some jack next time.
