I'll take that as a compliment ;)

Would there be interest for it? It's a huge time/energy sink and I'm not sure after the horror show of last year that the community would want that? If there's enough demand I can run it, but I'd want to be sure people would be into it.

I am so glad to be seeing this thread Borneo. I was literally about to post a thread to gauge if there was interest for the long running challenge this year..

Hey guys!

So as lots of you will know, we have a yearly cooking competition here on /ck/, where people cook and present dishes according to themes which are then rated by other people taking part or just observing.

I've been in contact with a few of the competition regulars and we thought it'd be cool to up the anti a bit. Because some trolls decided to try their best to ruin the last one, we were thinking of maybe adding in a panel of 'official' judges (no spoilers but we know of someone pretty well known in the cooking industry who'd be willing to take part!), who will verify their scores with timestamps. We could keep the public vote too, but the winner of the judges votes will win the prizes.

And the other thing we were looking at changing were the prizes themselves. As a thanks to the people spending money and putting time in to this, I was thinking of pushing out the boat a bit. And if they encouraged more people to take part, that would be all the better.

Anyway, feedback would be appreciated. As well as new ideas you guys have.

I admit it, Yellowmug is scum. Since the competition ended i've gotten 3 emails from obvious throwaway accounts abusing me for not putting his dish through and for letting people insult his food. All written exactly the same as he did.

Well screw you Yellowmug, I had nothing to do with people hating your food.

He seemed to take it as a personal insult. Maybe a click of a mouse will give him the sense of power and control the rest of his life lacks? *shrugs* Don't care either way.

It had gotten misfiled. Found it. I like being thorough. You can always down vote it on to booru.

Might have skipped it in the uploading. Let me check.

>Scoring needs to be handled a lot better, triple checked before submitting to the thread. Too many times did contestants have to point out that their own scores were mixed up or misrepresented
That was my mistake, trying to post the threads too fast when coming home from work. My apologies.

>Can we abandon the colours round too?
It as one of the most requested theme in the planning thread, but we can avoid it next year.

Good point. Still, one can mourn for the friendly vibe that used to be here.

Of course I say that and the booru is down for some reason. So I might do the whole uploading this tomorrow.

And thanks for the encouragement. I stayed out of the threads a lot more then in past years, as you said, they turned quite toxic this year. Then again the whole board has gotten meaner, I feel, in recent times.

If you give me a few hour they'll all be uploaded and tagged on the booru. I use the ck_challenge tag to mark them.
