I'm in CO... And yes orange is but once I gave it some thought I came up with tons of ideas and I think I've got things narrowed down. We will see how it turns out because one of the things I'm going to try I've never done before. Gonna be posting Wednesday since I have the day off. I'm super excited. I'm pretty stoked for the brioche recipe, I've tried several and didn't like them so I'll give these a shot. Love a good simple cheeseburger on a brioche bun. Yum.

Overall Operation mexican picnic was a smashing success. I also got a phone interview for an amazing job after I was done eating it, and got the job today. So maybe it will be lucky for you too :) Now to rest after these exciting two days... Thanks guys!

Yeah, tamales aren't very pretty by themselves but they're also just about the most delicious thing you can stuff in your face... LOL
I think it's important to have a really pretty side dish when you make them to make up for the tamales cuz they can be downright butt ugly.

I hope you try to make some of this because it's all soooo good, and particularly the flavors work soooo well together. The creamy salty sweet of the corn cuts the vinegar of the potato salad and the vinegary potato salad gives some bite to the masa in the tamales... And of course the agua fresca is just mild and refreshing enough to wash it all down.

I'm steaming more tamales for myself tonight hehe.

The tamales are the main entry for me definitely, they take a very long time to slow cook the meat and are a complicated process and I picked the other two side dishes to accent or work with the flavors in the tamales.

I'm going to work on verticals now for everything, hopefully it'll be easier for me this time lol

The flavors are all so simple but so delicious you will have no problem making any of it! The tamales take a couple days and can be a hassle if you've never done them but they are sooooo worth it...

I gotta go get some stuff figured out with this new job but I'll make up a vertical tomorrow
