Apple Pie Oatmeal
1/4 cup rolled oats
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 cup whole milk
2 Tbsp raisins
1/2 a small cooking apple
1 Tbsp dark brown sugar (divided)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
pinch of nutmeg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp shredded cheddar

>IN YOUR BREAKFAST BOWL
place half the brown sugar, saturate with vanilla. Add cheese, set aside.

>IN POT
place everything except the oatmeal, stir to combine, then add oatmeal and stir.
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring often to prevent burning. When time is up, decant oatmeal into bowl, stir to incorporate all ingredients, then serve.

It'snot a vegetable. It's an herb. The flavor improves the taste of food, but by itself is pretty awful. Use the seeds and the foliage for cooking but only add the stalks if you need to increase your fiber intake, add bulk to a soup or need to add crunch to a salad.

Jack is sour mash, Jameson's is Irish whiskey. Two completely different critters. As whiskeys go they're about as related as a Giraffe and an Okapi.

Try a variety of whiskeys; rye (Canadian is superior to American here), bourbon (Knob Creek and Maker's Mark aren't bad), Canadian (cheap blended whiskeys are better here; Ten High, Lord Calvert, Windsor Canadian), Irish (single malt unpeated is recommended), Scotch (recommend Speyside single malts and blended highland malts). I've found a number of really expensive whiskeys are just over-priced rot-gut with a good PR department and a number of inexpensive and reasonably priced ones are actually pretty top-notch.

Also, Bushmill's is superior to Jameson in every way.

I live in the AK and had it in a gumbo house called Fire and Ice. Dunno where they got it but it was fucking lovely.
