The individual plating...

This was probably one of the best meals I've made in my life. My dad

Ok, so this is everything packed up to go.

I made shredded pork tamales, elotes with cotija cheese, cilantro, chili powder, sour cream, mayo, and a lime wedge squeezed on top, pickled red onion potato salad with jalapeno, and the orange drink is cantaloupe agua fresca which is pureed cantaloupe with water strained to remove the pulp with lime juice...

All of these can be served hot or cold and taken to go, albeit the corn can be a bit messy :)

You can always post but the open rounds are over, we're into eliminations :( So you can't technically "play to win" but you should totally participate anyway!

Thank you :D Almost complete... Lucky me it's raining in my part of Colorado so we're gonna be eating indoors. :(

I'm so excited for you guys to see all the yummies I made

I'm excited to eat it... Lol
Overall it's going to be pork tamales, the potato salad I've posted, elotes (grilled seasoned corn on the cob), and a canteloupe agua fresca. Mexican picnic!

Unfortunately I leave for the gym in about 15 mins for about an hour and a half so I won't be posting for several hours still :(

But it's gonna be soooooo yummy.

I wanted to say I really love that you made a dish from your home country, I love seeing regional foods and I'll definitely be trying it with some barbeque this summer.

Looks gorgeous as usual and birdy is probably my favorite thing about these threads lol
If I was to do that salad with a vinaigrette do you think it would still be yum?
>>5325957
Honestly beef tastes like beef and I think you'll be fine with a nice fatty chuck om nom nom
>>5325959
Agreed with this anon!

I just took my pork out and shredded... I swear there's nothing like waking up to the smell of slow cooked meat in the morning. The weather is pretty shitty here today but I'm gonna make an effort to go outside, lol

And if not chuck will be totally fine, I've had barbacoa lamb, pork, beef... It's more the method of cooking and seasoning than anything. But beef cheeks are the best om nom nom

I remember we used to be more excited for the tamale van on Fridays than the ice cream truck... And of course I learned most of my spanish from being scolded by my friend's abuelitas when I would sneak in the kitchen and "sample" the food before it was finished.

So much nostalgia.. Now I really want a tamale. Mmmmm.

I'm pretty freaking excited, I'm even writing stuff down because I keep getting all these crazy ideas... This is definitely gonna break my bank but it's gonna be soooo worth it! Hopefully I'll be able to bid on another job soon.

So excited to see what you make as always :D

I could help you out.. I'm the whitest white chick ever but I grew in southern california with mexican friends and abuelitas to teach me the magic of mexican food, om nom nom

Also nothing better than eating a tamale a 60 year old mexican lady sold you out of the back of her van...
