Where do these girls come from? Where do you meet them? I'm not down for long distance relationships and a lot of them live elsewhere.

Anime does not even consume my life at all, but when I go I tinder I really can't feel anything but disappointment because everyone on there is literal basic bitch, not even a buzzword either. It's cute when girls have actual interests and hobbies and not just "I like food and the beach".

Welp, looks like I got trapped again.

Side story, but while at the con we were checking out the game room and there was a "girl" playing smash or something with perfectly waxed legs and a female cosplay. Their game ends and they turn around and I hear a deep voice "Hey you guys wanna play" and me and my buddies just start dying.

Went to a maid cafe as well and kept talking about a cute butler we thought was crossdressing because there weren't enough dudes or preference or whatever. I find out through Instagram looking through the con pictures that this person identifies as asexual. I'm like 70% sure they have a penis though.

The first and second encounters were different people, the butler didn't speak much and didn't serve our table at the maid cafe so I didn't get any hints in that regard. The gameroom was obviously a dude who thought it would be hilarious to dress up as a girl.

I was thinking about doing that next convention and keep my beard but get a little more toned so it's obvious I'm a dude but we'll see how that goes.

Hey bro I'm not an old-old fag by any means but I've been around the block a few times. Stop worrying about not having a gf, and take care for the following, if you haven't already:

1. Be in shape. You don't have to be ripped just don't be worthless.
2. Get a job.
3. Socialize outside of work.
4. Groom yourself and dress appropriately.

Do these and gf candidates will follow. If you're compatible, she'll like you and you'll like her. Don't use an arbitrary hobby to filter out potential partners. If she loves you she'll stay up all night sewing costumes with you not because she feels obligated to, but because it makes you happy.

TLDR you need to live YOUR life without relying on someone else being there to complete it.

Eh, I'm really not too worried about not having a girlfriend, not to turn this into /soc/ garbage but I'm decently attractive and tick most of those boxes, only thing I'm still working on is my career which is up and coming and I'm finally moving out of min wage bullshit into an actual job. 2bh this was mostly a shitpost thread because my friends and I kept wondering where all these cute girls who were into anime came from, because there sure as hell aren't any around us. Didn't really expect so many negative responses though lmao. When at the convention I just seemed to vibe a lot better with the girls there than the ones in my hometown, which spurred me to look for girls with cosplay as an interest.

Every bit of your advice is true though, I read something similar years ago and have been sticking to it since; it's led me to be a lot more social and independent.

I've found that most of the "women" at cons that cosplay, Are usually taken, "lesbian" or "asexual" and aren't interested, That or they are so cringy and weird, dating them would be a mistake.

The better looking ones are almost always taken, or have such ridiculously high standards.

Being confident, taking care of your hygiene, and not a complete beta will usually net you someone decent, Even if someone isn't into the same things, theres a possibility of getting them into it.

I've gone to multiple conventions and almost every girl I've encountered without having other real-life connections to has either daddy issues/divorced parents, mental unstability, lived in bumfuck nowhere or turned into a fake boy. Usually some combination. OP, I think all guys who look for con gfs have this idealized image of a cute, slightly-petite single girl (albeit with friends around) cosplaying a well-made but humble character from something you like, is well-off, shares your beliefs and magically lives somewhere accessible and the only thing keeping you apart is that you'd never had a chance to meet and form a bond before.

That girl, anon, she does not fucking exist. Every girl you meet will be 20% that girl and 80% white trash abomination. The sooner you come to terms with the fact that your manic pixie /ourgirl/ doesn't exist, the sooner you can divest that desire into normie points and start seeking friends/gf who have character and stability.
