Missed focus too. Got the hair in front, not the eyes. mineralblu is certainly better than the "average cosplay photographer", and is maybe towards the top of *cosplay* photographers, but is quite bland and safe when it comes to actual photography.

OP's pic is quite a bit more conceptually interesting, in comparison. Decent execution too.

He's also known to get into cons as press and then charge people for shoots. If you paid him, then you have a better chance also of appearing in the magazine he works for, Cosplay Culture. He's been banned from a few cons apparently because of the whole charging while using a press badge. He was hiding his badge at ECCC when I saw him. He also started charging by number of poses, something like $75 for his editing and 3 poses

I am not the same person, it's really low pixel, even accounting for internet and how copying JPGs means you loose resolution, it's like, bad? Also, 14mm and wider lenses should never be used for that shot since it makes her legs look like tree trunks, it's extremely unflattering unless you are trying for stylization. It does not work, it looks ugly and you shoud rethink your style.

This is grainier than my grandfather's photos and the face does not have enough detail. While I understand that a lot of photographers are hobbyists in the cosplay scene, there is no reason to charge if your photos are amateur and below. Question, I spend my time helping photographers that I know pose their models because they don't know how to pose models and the models half the time don't know how to pose, so I take that position. I have people sometimes chiming in on what the model should do while I'm shooting and it usually just fucks things up or they blow a good shot.

This is overall a nice photo, but I'd rather him face camera left. That one strip of hair on the side of his nose annoys the fuck out of me especially since its behind his nose. At least flip it so you can see the strand fully instead of partly blocked by the nose or keep the pose, but slightly turn him to create some separation between the hair and the tip of the nose.

You're not going to find much useful critique about photography in /cgl/ as most people here are shitposters looking to create drama when it comes to photography itself. /p/ is more about talking why photos are shit, instead of good, it helps because you can determine what makes a photo bad and avoid those that make the same mistakes continuously. Ultimately, it comes down to what you like, look at the photographer's work before you book someone.

There's plenty of weeb threads no matter where you are on 4chan. This entire website is under weeb culture other than a few containment boards, which still have a lot of weeb shit on it.

Pose is nice.

Things I hate about it:
- Dutch Angle, it's just not used properly and serves no purpose here
- Backlit at an angle it looks like from the camera left, but then the back is underexposed, probably from using an aesthetic filter
- Cropped at knee.
- Waist and legs are directly facing the camera right. I'd rather see it twist a little more towards the front just to create a little more flow for the eyes with the waist and thigh's natural contours, as well as reduce the model's right leg's separation/outline.
- would've liked to see a little pop of color on the underside of the belt's back scarf/bow. Even just some lightening up in post would've help instead of leaving it a blended mess of shadows there.

There are literally no cosplayers that I would be mad if I didn't get to shoot. At best, cosplayers are average looking.

I've been turned down when I ask for pictures before, many times by people who should have been honored I was even asking them at all. I just kept it moving. The only reason cosplayers are able to get big heads like that is because low tier photographers keep giving them attention.

I will continue to shit on your and your so-called professional opinion. The images you are looking at are from Jason's IG feed. So clearly you are obviously to the fact that IG compresses images and the images loses sharpness. So there goes your "focus is off".

Now you mention "over saturation" so because the cosplayers red wig color pops that is over saturation to you? Now on to posing, let me guess, you want Jason to ask his cosplayers these females to stick their ass out so it's a good pose for you?

Now on to the lighting, that is great lighting you dumb fuck! No shadows on the cosplayers face and good lighting on the eyes, you can clearly see the catch lights on the cosplayers eyes. How about you zoom in and look at the cosplayers eyes to see how the lighting worked.

So again you fucking hater, fuck off! Jason isn't overhyped. He has earned everything he has worked for.

I have lots of respect for him and he has been a great help to my photography. I don't get how someone can be overhyped like you say yet they have accomplished so much.
